Description

Juicy and flavorful chicken quarters on grill, seasoned to perfection and cooked with indirect heat for crispy skin and tender meat every time.

Ingredients

Scale

4 chicken leg quarters

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp smoked paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat grill to 350°F and set up for two-zone cooking (direct and indirect heat).

2. Pat chicken quarters dry and coat with olive oil and seasoning mix.

3. Place chicken quarters skin side up over indirect heat and close the lid.

4. Cook for 40–50 minutes, turning halfway, until internal temperature reaches 175°F near the thigh.

5. Move to direct heat for 5–7 minutes to crisp the skin.

6. Brush with BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of cooking.

7. Remove from grill, let rest 5 minutes, then serve.

Notes

You can swap BBQ sauce for honey glaze for a sweeter finish.

For added smoky flavor, toss a handful of soaked wood chips onto the coals if using a charcoal grill.
